With the introduction of the Porsche 911 (991) new body design for 2012, it was only a matter of time before the wheel gurus started to get their hands on them. This particular 991 Porsche is the world’s first 991 on a set of aftermarket wheels, thanks to our partners over at Modulare Wheels. The wheels they chose to fit on this 1st off application happen to be a set of their 21″ B18 monoblock forged wheels in polished gunmetal giving the car an enhanced production look.
Modulare Wheels, an expert in the wheel business teamed up with Park Place Porsche to make this 1st set ever done for a 991 happen. They chose to go with a 21″ setup as the plus one inch factor applies when doing proper wheels and tires. Since the car came equipped with 20″ wheels already, 21″ wheels were just what it needed to stand out from the crowd. Tires had to remain the Michelin PS2 to remain inline with the OEM tires that are equipped on Porsche cars from the factory.
You’ll be hearing a lot more from Modulare Wheels in the upcoming months including great interviews with their team, exclusive videos of their cars and of course more great shoots like this one.
