In 2008 and 2009 emerged a new hype around Panerai watches which became in a sense almost as popular as Rolex in a short time frame. Their designs were simple and large and demanded attention but more importantly made a statement as to what “different money” looked like. Today comes a new contender that is regaining market share and establishing itself as the new timepiece that makes a statement above Panerai or Rolex. Ranging from $12,000 to over $300,000, come the new face of Audemars Piguet.
There is nothing new about Audemars Piguet as a brand, but rather Audemars’ image is changing by now offering a much younger watch named the Royal Oak and the Royal Oak Shore both of which are targeted to Panerai owners looking for an upgrade. Both models can be had under $20,000 but more unique editions can go up $50,000.
