Its been a few years now since we last released our thoughts on some of the best exotics you can buy for under a $100,000. Last time we felt that Aston Martin, Lamborghini, and Ferrari all were great contenders but nothing came close to the quality, driveability, and luxury of the Porsche 911 Turbo as the overall winner of the best exotic under a $100,000. Here are this year’s best exotics under a $100,000 and you’ll be surprised that Ferrari and Lamborghini no longer made the cut as their older models are now a bit outdated and there is simply better cars for less money than the old contenders.
The Porsche 997 911 GT3 makes it on our list this year through amazing styling and being leaps ahead of its predecessor as you’d expect from typical Porsche fashion. Current prices are right below the $100,000 mark and deliver amazing value for the money. Extreme styling which is not for everyone, but brings Porsche right up there with Lamborghini and Ferrari in terms of turning heads. Also comes with usable power and handling that everyone can enjoy. Not far from a race car with all the comforts needed to take you to the office Monday to Friday and to the track on the weekends.

We were hesitant in adding the Bentley GT Speed since prices are right at the $100,00 mark for the Speed but chose to do so as the 2007 GT model, even when not in the Speed trim, still offers amazing value. Despite Bentley having a rough start with electronics and trim issues with the 2004 – 2006 Model year GT’s, we feel that the 2007 has not seen as many angry owners and does an unbelievable job delivering great performance and amazing luxury. We also believe this is one of the best and most elegant Bentley’s in history with the beautiful upgraded wheels, seats and veneer on the inside.

We all agree that the old Aston Martin V8 Vantage is getting quite old but we still see a lot of value with the updated 2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage S which offers better performance, equal amounts of driveability and the updated styling that enhances the car just perfectly. Despite being biased towards the Aston brand especially since just finished our last Project Aston Martin, we still value the Aston brand as the quality finish and driving pleasure exceeds others in the same price range and is a head turner everywhere.

While the 2011 Alpina B7 hasn’t depreciated that much to be considered for our list, the Alpina B7 is probably one of today’s nicest 4 door sedans that doesn’t wear an exotic badge. While it is a BMW, it wears an Alpina Badge which allows us to include it on this list. With all the gadgets and comfort you could ever imagine, and technology that puts Bentley to shame, the Alpina B7 is a performance sedan for your everyday use. Make sure to check out the bulletproof version as well, even if its a bit over $100,000 used.

While we are far from being huge SUV fans, we certainly can recognize a vehicle that stomps its competition. The 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo is one of those SUV’s you love or hate but for those that love it, you certainly know why we included it on this list. With extreme power, comfort and amazing gas consumption despite the 500HP+, we are true believers that the Cayenne is going to make a huge return with this generations turbo. We drove the Panamera Turbo as well but it was far from impressive and decided to include the Cayenne instead.

We hope you enjoyed our picks for some of today’s hottest exotics under $100,000. We know that we are all going to share different opinions but we think that regardless of which model you choose, you can hardly go wrong. There were many other cars that fit being a great buy under a $100,000 but we felt these fit the bill better. Let us know which cars you think we should include next year. Check out other BMW case study on how we bought and drove a BMW M6 for only $190/month.
